PROJECT DESCRIPTION

*Receptivity* [artistic film in progress] delves into the heart of partnering through the lens of receptivity. Set against the hypnotic rhythm of a motorized spinning chair—its perpetual motion a metaphor for the ceaseless flux of relational dynamics—the film captures the interplay of resistance, surrender, and shared momentum.

Two dancers navigate the pull of the chair’s centrifugal force and the gravity of their own weight, searching for what it means to listen with their bodies. Through intimate movement, they explore how stillness can emerge from motion and how care takes shape in the embrace of uncertainty.

Choreographed by Jessi Stegall and co-directed with Ilya Vidrin, the collaboration turns a keen eye toward the poetics of shared action to invite audiences to witness the fragile, powerful, and profoundly (ambiguous) human art of receiving and being received.
